EASYCOLD
The Easycold range of low temperature mixes is part of Colas' commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.
Designed for road maintenance, Easycold offers performance equivalent to or better than hot mix asphalt.
Easycold can be applied in thicknesses ranging from 1.5 to 7 cm:
- surfacing
- leveling
- structural reinforcement
The properties of the Easycold range are the fruit of several years of R&D work. The range can be used in similar conditions and situations to a hot or warm mix.
Range of EASYCOLD
- Easycold
Made from a bitumen emulsion at room temperature or moderate temperatures (< 40°C), it can be applied in thin, very thin and ultra-thin wearing courses, as well as for reprofiling. It offers mechanical performance equivalent to thin or flexible bituminous mixes. It contains high levels of RAP (up to 100%).
Carbon footprint reduced by average 40% to 60% depending on the proportion of RAP compared to a reference solution in asphalt conrete.
- Easycold HP
Made from a bitumen emulsion produced at a temperature of around 80°C, it develops cohesion very quickly and its behavior when very young is comparable to that of hot mix asphalt. It is applied as a wearing course and offers mechanical performance equivalent to that of thin or semigrained bituminous mixes. It contains very high levels of RAP (up to 70%).

- Easycold RV
Made from bitumen fluxed with a bio-based additive and produced at a temperature of around 100°C.
Carbon footprint reduced by average 30% compared to a reference solution in asphalt concrete.
- Easyclair
Made from a translucent synthetic binder emulsion or an emulsion containing predominantly bio-based binders.
Carbon footprint reduced by average 30 to 70% depending on the type of binder compared to a reference.
